KONSEP DIRI PENYANDANG DISABILITAS TUNA RUNGU DI SLB B NEGERI PEMBINA KEBUN BUNGA KOTA PALEMBANG
This study focuses and aims to discuss how the self-concept of deaf people in SLB B Pembina Kebun Bunga. Palembang. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques using observation, interviews and documentation. The theory used in this study was from George Herbert Mead, namely Symbolic Interaction Theory. The results of this study were divided into two categories, namely the self-concept of persons with hearing impairments in interpersonal communication and factors influencing self-concept. Self- concept through interpersonal communication includes, (1). Communication between deaf people, (2). communication between the deaf and the teacher, (3). deaf and elderly communication. (4). Increase the confidence to communicate. Factors that influence the formation of deaf children's self-concept ince: (1) Self-acceptance. (2). The influence of knowledge about deafness. (3) family support or the deaf. (4). Influence on the role of self- esteem. Keywords: self-concept, deaf disabled, SLB B State develoment
