PELAKSANAAN MEDIA RELATIONS DALAM UPAYA MENJAGA CITRA INSTANSI PEMERINTAH (Studi pada Bagian Humas dan Protokol DPRD Provinsi Sumatera Selatan)
Public Relations (PR) is a bridge for agencies, companies, or organizations with their internal and external peers. In the form of publications, PR needs to work closely with the media to assist in disseminating news or information so that it can be conveyed to the public evenly. This study discusses how the implementation of media relations carried out by the Public Relations and Protocol Section of the DPRD of South Sumatra Province. This type of research is descriptive qualitative which aims to explain and describe how the implementation of media relations activities are carried out using Elvinaro Ardianto's Media Relations Theory (2011). Data collection methods used are interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation. The results of the study illustrate that the Public Relations and Protocol Section of the DPRD of South Sumatra Province carries out seven media relations activities, namely press conferences, press briefings, press tours, press releases, special events, press interviews and press luncheons. In the press release activity, the implementation is more concerned because it includes the entire publication of information on the implementation of various activities or activities of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD in creating a positive public image through publications from various social media accounts of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD agencies as well as publications from the Public Relations and Protocol of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD media partners.
