Birds of Paradise have decreased in population, it can threaten these species to become extinct animals in Indonesia. The population decline is caused by several things, such as illegal hunting, and reducing habitat for Birds of Paradise. The visual beauty of the Bird of Paradise, known as the bird from heaven, makes these animals often get hunted and traded. To anticipate the reduction in the Bird of Paradise population, WWF as an international organization is here to help deal with this issue. In this research, the authors focus on WWF‟s role in protecting Birds of Paradise in Indonesia. Using qualitative research methods, data analysis is described descriptively. Thus, WWF carries out 3 roles from the NGO concept from David Lewis, namely implementer, catalysts, and partners as WWF‟s efforts to protect Birds of Paradise in Indonesia.
