Terrorism is a very sensitive phenomenon, for it can have an enormous impact on the world's politics. Furthermore, it includes transnational crime and is classified as a credible threat to collective action. The Indonesian government and the Australian government are among those seeking bilateral cooperation to protect the region from the threat of terrorism. One form of cooperation agreed by Indonesian-Australia, specializing in MoU on Countering Terrorism and Violent Extremism. The MoU is signed on December 7, 2018 in Yogyakarta with each representative of the two countries. The purpose of this study is to know the effective of MoU Countering Terrorism and Violent Extremism of Indonesia-Australian cooperation in Indonesia that has been established since 2018 and research restrictions, the author see the effectiveness of 2018 to 2021. The theory the author uses on this research is the theory of Compliance (compliance) and the Effectiveness Of The Regime by Ronald B Mitchel, to see an actor's compliance viewed by: 1)Compliance as an independent self interest, 2.)Compliance as interdependent self interest, 3.) Non-compliance as preference, 4.)Non-compliance due tue incapacity, 5.)Non-compliance due tue inadvertence. As for looking at the effectiveness of the regime through several indicators, that is: a.) Output, b.) Outcome, c.) Impact. In analyzing, the methods the writer uses are qualitative methods and exploratory methods. The data that the author presents in this research is primary data, the data that the author collects through direct interview techniques with some sources and the writer also uses secondary data that the writer has taken from the literature study. Regarding the results of research on countering terrorism and violent extremism Indonesia-Australia that has been carried out over the past four years indicates lack of life to effectiveness. The impact, which explains that the quantity of acts of terrorism and the quantity of perpetrators of terrorism is still rising and falling.
