This study aims to determine the role of Kerapatan Adat Nagari (KAN) in solving the sako and pusako cases in Nagari Sulit Air, X Koto Diatas District, Solok Regency, West Sumatra. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with an ethnographic strategy. Data collection was carried out through in-depth interviews with 11 informants, observation, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that Kerapatan Adat Nagari Sulit Air has tried to carry out its role in resolving sako and pusako cases by applying customary law. regional regulations stipulate that the settlement of cases is through the process of Bajanjang Naik Batanggo Turun. Then the people and the Nagari Sulit Air Government have great hopes for Kerapatan Adat Nagari to be able to resolve the sako and pusako cases so that they can make clear decisions. However, in this settlement process, there are still several cases that have not been resolved by the Kerapatan Adat Nagari and have not been able to provide a clear decision on a case. Then the people and the Nagari Sulit Air Government considered that Kerapatan Adat Nagari had tried to carry out its role although it was still far from what it wanted.
