Penelitian adsorpsi ion Ni (II) menggunakan nanokomposit Fe3O4-kitosan telah dilakukan. Parameter yang diteliti meliputi kondisi optimum adsorpsi yaitu waktu kontak (15, 30, 45, 60, 75, 90 dan 105 menit), berat komposit (0,2, 0,3, 0,4, 0,5 dan 0,6 g). Pengukuran konsentrasi ion Ni (II) menggunakan spektrofotometer serapan atom (SSA). Uji isoterm adsorpsi berdasarkan persamaan Langmuir dan Freundlich. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kondisi optimum adsorpsi ion Ni (II) pada waktu kontak 60 menit, dan berat komposit 0,2 g dengan adsorpsi sebesar 2,1857 mg/g. Berdasarkan uji isoterm adsorpsi, adsorpsi ion Ni (II) memenuhi persamaan isoterm Freundlich dengan kapasitas adsorpsi 2,6731 mg/g.
