Telah dilakukan sintesis nanokomposit magnetit-kitin secara kopresipitasi menggunakan senyawa FeSO4 dan FeCl3 pada perbandingan Fe3O4 : kitin (1:1).
Parameter yang diuji meliputi kondisi optimum adsorpsi yaitu waktu kontak (2, 5, 10, 15, 30, 45, 60, dan 75 menit) dan variasi konsentrasi awal (5, 10, 15, 20 dan 25 mg/L). Pengukuran konsentrasi ion Ni(II) menggunakan spektrofotometer serapan atom (SSA). Uji isoterm adsorpsi berdasarkan persamaan Langmuir dan Freundlich.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kondisi optimum adsorpsi ion Ni(II) pada waktu kontak 30 menit, berat komposit 0,6 g dan konsentrasi ion Ni(II) 10 mg/L dengan daya serap sebesar 0,4123 mg/g. Berdasarkan uji isoterm adsorpsi, adsorpsi ion Ni(II) memenuhi persamaan isoterm adsorpsi Langmuir dan Freundlich dengan nilai regresi 0,979 dan 0,973. Nilai tetapan Langmuir sebesar 0,2921 dengan kapasitas adsorpsi 13,4771 mg/g dan nilai tetapan Freundlich sebesar 1,3556 dengan kapasitas adsorpsi 2,8875 mg/g.
