This study was aimed to find out whether or not the fiction literature could increase narrative writing achievement of the eleventh grade students of science of Senior High School of Methodist 2 Palembang. A quasi-experimental design was used in this study. The population of this study was all the eleventh grade students of Senior High School of Methodist 2 Palembang in the academic year 2012/2013. The samples of this research were two classes that consisted of 32 and 29 students for each class. They were divided into two groups, the experimental and the control group. The students of the experimental group were taught by using fiction literature (short story) while the students in control group were not given any treatment. This research revealed that the use of fiction literature could increase students’ narrative writing achievement. The effectiveness could be seen from the mean of post tests of experimental group which was higher than the control group. The result of Independent Sample T-test showed the mean difference of post tests was 30,022. It was also proven by the value of t observed which was higher than t table. So, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. It means that there was a significant difference in the students’ descriptive writing achievement who were taught through experiential learning and those who were not.
