Using tumblr to enhance narrative writing achievement of eleventh graders of SMA Methodist 2 Palembang
The purpose of the study was to find out whether or not Tumblr was effective to improve narrative writing achievement of the eleventh graders of SMA Methodist 2 Palembang. An experimental study, one group, pre-test post-test design was used in this study. The population of this study was all the eleventh grade students of SMA Methodist 2 Palembang, in the academic year 2012/2013. The sample of this study was one class consisting of 29 students, as the experimental group. This group was given treatments for 14 meetings. The writing test was used to collect the data. After the data were collected and analyzed, the mean of post –test which was higher than pre-test. The result of paired sample t-test showed the mean difference of post-test was 12.5 so, the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected and alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted. It means that there was a significant difference in narrative writing achievement after they were taught using Tumblr. So, this study proved that Tumblr could enhance narrative writing achievement of eleventh graders of SMA Methodist 2 Palembang.
