This thesis is entitled "Toxic Friendship Phenomenon among Students of FISIP Sriwijaya University" University" This research problem discusses friendship relationshiss that are unhealthy, uncomfortable, and even harmful to peers. The purpos of this research is to understand the forms of toxic friendship experienced by FISIP Sriwijaya University students and why victims of toxic friendship choose to maintain their friendships. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a research strategy through observation, in-depth interviews with 12 informants, documentation and literature study, then this research is analyzed using phenomenological theory by Alfred Schutz. The results of this study indicate that the forms of toxic friendship in victims, namely peers, include; verbal abuse, betrayal, playing victim, selfishness, and plunging into negativity. Then the reason why victims of toxic friendship choose to maintain their friendship is because they have been friends for a long time, still need each other, remember the goodness of the past, and there is hope that it will change for the better.
