This study examines the “Phenomena of the existence of CSWS in Kelumpang Jaya Village, Tebing Tinggi District, Empat lawang Regency”. The problem of this reseacrh focuses on the phenomenon of the presence of prostitutes, more precisely in Kelumpang Jaya Vilagge, Tebing Tinggi District, Empat Lawang regency regarding what causes the rise of the phenomenon of the presence of prostitutes in dim cafes in the Kelumpang Jaya village area. The method used in this study is qualitative method. Data collection techniques by way of observation, interviews, depth and documentation. This research is the ratioanal choice theory proposed by James S Coleman. The results of this study refer to the description of the existence of prostitutes, the factors behind women working as prostitutes. The result of this study indicate that the phenomenon of the presence of commersial sex workers appears to be caused by several aspect. First, the reason why women work as prostitutes is the inadequate economic conditions that force conditions to work as commercial sex worker , as a result of divorce where previously their life needs were borne by their partners but after the divorce they have to work alone to meet their daily needs and become a commercial sex worker just to fulfill lust only. Besides that, the result of this of this study, the researches found that CSW is a job field can be used for women who do not have the skills or expertise to work in other fields. Becoming a prostitutes is an alternative way for women to fullfill their daily needs, but it cannot be denied that working as a commercial sex worker is an aberration that exists in society.
