This research evaluates the ability of the Palembang City Youth and Sports Office in sports development in 2022. The research method used was descriptive qualitative with in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The results show that the agency has good capacity as a driver of sports development in the region. They successfully collaborate with government agencies, private organizations and communities to strengthen existing programs. However, there are still challenges such as limited sports technology and lack of outstanding athletes in Palembang City. Therefore, it is necessary to increase the capacity of the agency through the development of sports technology, improving the qualifications of human resources through training in sports and cooperation with related parties. By overcoming problems and increasing capacity in sports development, it is hoped that Indonesia as a whole and Palembang City in particular can improve sports achievements both at the national and international levels Hopefully the results of this study will provide useful input for the development of the world of sports in the future.
