UPAYA DIPLOMASI PUBLIK INDONESIA MELALUI PROMOSI DESA WISATA PENGLIPURAN BALI PASCA PANDEMI COVID-19
Bali is still very dominant in the Indonesian tourism sector. The opening of Bali for the development of mass tourism has unintended consequences in the form of environmental damage. This has made the image of Indonesian tourism in Bali decline, especially due to the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia, which has caused a downturn in the tourism sector and the economy. Through Penglipuran Tourism Village as one of the cleanest villages in the world, it is an opportunity to restore a positive image and visits from foreign tourists in Indonesia. This thesis attempts to examine Indonesia's public diplomacy efforts through the promotion of the Penglipuran tourism village in Bali. The concept used in researching this case is the concept of Public Diplomacy by Mark Leonard. This research uses a descriptive research type with qualitative data. The results obtained from the research indicate that there are various public diplomacy efforts of the Indonesian government in promoting the Penglipuran tourism village, namely, through the dimensions of news management, strategic communication, and relationship building. In news management, the government through the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy promotes and campaigns for the Penglipuran Tourism Village on various social media and collaborates with various international media and content creators. In strategic communication. Penglipuran Village and the Government of Indonesia work together in carrying out environmental themes and cultural festivals with the meaning of conveying symbolic messages to tourists. In relationship building, Penglipuran Village collaborates with various parties such as the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in providing direct experience to foreign tourists for official visits through dances, traditional ceremonies, culinary specialties in Penglipuran Bali Tourism Village.
