Keputusan yang lebih baik seringkali dihasilkan melalui komunikasi yang inklusif antar anggota dalam suatu kelompok. Meskipun terdapat bukti yang mendukung bahwa tim lintas fungsi memudahkan pengambilan keputusan karena melibatkan lebih banyak orang, namun masih sedikit penelitian tentang dinamika komunikasi pada proses pengambilan keputusan kelompok beserta hal-hal yang terlibat dalam proses tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dinamika komunikasi pada proses pengambilan keputusan tim lintas fungsi Binar Academy yang mengadopsi pola pengambilan keputusan serupa dengan startup. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Vigilant Interaction Theory oleh Hirokawa, Jarvenpaa dan Majchrzak dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa dalam dinamika komunikasi pada proses pengambilan keputusan muncul hambatan komunikasi salah satunya perbedaan cara pandang namun dapat diatasi dengan cara melibatkan interaksi antara anggota tim, pemahaman bersama, kolaborasi, koordinasi, penanganan konflik, dan evaluasi. Komunikasi yang efektif dan kolaboratif memainkan peranan penting dalam memastikan pengambilan keputusan yang baik dan mendukung keberhasilan Tim Lintas fungsi dalam mengerjakan prototype aplikasi. Although there is evidence supporting the idea that cross-functional teams facilitate decision-making because they involve more people, there is still limited research on the dynamics of communication in group decision-making processes and the factors involved in the process. This study aims to determine the dynamics of communication in the decision-making process of the Binar Academy cross-functional team, which adopts a decision-making pattern similar to startups. The theory used in this study is the Vigilant Interaction Theory by Hirokawa, Jarvenpaa, and Majchrzak using qualitative methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through interviews. The results of the study show that in the dynamics of communication within the decision-making process, there are communication barriers, one of which is a difference in perspective, but can be overcome through interactions among team members, shared understanding, collaboration, coordination, conflict management, and evaluation. Effective and collaborative communication play important roles in ensuring good decision-making and supporting the success of the Cross-functional Team in working on application prototypes.
