PEMANFAATAN TEPUNG DAUN NIPAH (Nypa fruticans Wurmb) PADA FORMULASI PAKAN IKAN PATIN UNTUK MENCEGAH PENYAKIT Motile Aeromonas Septicemia (MAS)
Disease that often attacks catfish is Motile Aeromonas Septicemia (MAS) caused by Aeromonas hydrophila bacteria. The use of antibiotics to treat fish can cause residues in the fish's body so that natural ingredients are needed as an alternative, namely nipa leaves (Nypa fruticans Wurmb). The purpose of this study was determine the optimal dose of nipa leaves meal in feed to prevent MAS disease. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments with 3 replications were P0 (without nipa leaves meal), P1 (5% nipa leaves meal), P2 (10% nipa leaves meal), P3 (15% nipa leaves meal), and P4 (20% nipa leaves meal). The results showed that treatment with a concentration of 20% nipa leaves meal (P4) in the catfish feed formulation was the best treatment to prevent Aeromonas hydrophila infection with the highest post-infection survival value of 90.74%, the lowest prevalence of fish infected with Aeromonas hydrophila namely 24.07%, post-infection absolute weight growth of 6.09 g and post-infection absolute length growth of 1.11 cm, post-infection feed convertion ratio value of 1.25, as well as total erythrocytes, total leukocytes, hematocrit levels, and hemoglobin levels which was still within the normal range.
