PENDEKATAN AGROGEOLOGI MELALUI IDENTIFIKASI MINERAL TERHADAP POTENSI KEHARAAN FORMASI HULUSIMPANG (TOMH), DAERAH AIR PUTIH DAN SEKITARNYA, KABUPATEN LEBONG, PROVINSI BENGKULU
Agrogeological research was carried out in the Air Putih area, Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province. Agrogeology is a new scientific discipline that involves earth science to play a role in the development of agriculture, by utilizing natural materials in nature. This study aims to identify the potential of nutrients based on the mineral composition of the rock. The analysis was carried out using two methods, namely petrography and X-Ray Diffraction (X-RD) analysis on 9 rock samples. Based on the results of petrographic analysis, it was found that the minerals contained consisted of quartz, plagioclase, Alkali Feldspar, pyroxene, hornblende, biotite, olivine, to clay minerals such as chlorite. These minerals have potential nutrients in the form of Na, Ca, Mg, Fe, and K. Then based on X-RD analysis, pyroxene, plagioclase, quartz, alkali feldspar, wollastonite, akermanite, tridymite, cristobalite, sulfur, sodalite, jadeite, vaterite were obtained. , leucite, and nepheline. These minerals have potential nutrients in the form of P, K, Ca, Mg, S, Cl, Fe, and Na. 4. The potential of nutrients obtained based on petrographic and X-RD analysis, it can be concluded that some minerals contained in rocks have potential natural nutrients that are beneficial to plants. Starting from the primary macronutrients in the form of phosphorus (P) which plays a role in energy metabolism, and potassium (K) which plays a role at the beginning of plant growth. Then the secondary macronutrients consist of calcium (Ca) for cell growth and plant roots, magnesium (Mg), chlorine (Cl), and iron (Fe) which are involved in the process of photosynthesis. Finally, there are non-essential but beneficial elements, such as sodium (Na), which can replace the plant's need for potassium (K). The results of the analysis show that the study area is dominated by feldspar mineral groups which have a high content of calcium and potassium nutrients that can increase rice productivity and maintain soil fertility stability, so that nutrients can be utilized naturally in the study area to grow food, such as rice.
