This research is entitled "The Role of Women in Improving the Family Economy (Study on Female Members of the Capital Loans of the PNM Mekaar Program in Tanjung Agas Village, Tanjung Raja District, Ogan Ilir Regency)". The problem of poverty has become a complex and multidimensional problem, therefore in improving the family economy it does not only depend on the husband's income as the head of the family but also on the involvement of women as well. This study was analyzed using the triple role theory concept proposed by (Moser, 1993). The method used is qualitative using a case study strategy, and data collection through observation, in-depth interviews, documentation and literature study. The results showed that women in Tanjung Agas Village, Tanjung Raja District, Ogan Ilir Regency, in improving the family economy, continued to carry out their reproductive roles by being good wives and housewives, in social roles, namely associations of posyandu mothers, then in productive roles women carried out various types of work and made capital loans to the PNM Mekaar program to earn income. The funds from this capital loan were utilized by women in various ways, namely a small portion for business capital and most of the others for meeting daily needs and for repaying debts, therefore the contribution of the capital loan to the Mekaar PNM program was more directed at mere consumptive activities than for productive activities that could produce, so that most women after making capital loans to the Mekaar PNM program experienced deteriorating economic conditions.
