Al-Ittifaqiah Islamic Boarding School is one of the largest modern Islamic boarding schools in South Sumatra. In order to improve the quality of education and human resources, Al-Ittifaqiah Islamic Boarding School cooperates with various other educational institutions both at home and abroad, one of which is Al-Azhar University, Egypt. This study aims to explain and analyze the educational cooperation carried out by Al-Ittifaqiah Indralaya Islamic Boarding School and Al-Azhar University Egypt through the Al-Azhar Excellent Scholarship program. By using descriptive qualitative research method, this research will describe the process of cooperation between Al-Ittifaqiah Islamic Boarding School and Al-Azhar University starting from the process of planning cooperation, the process of implementing cooperation, the purpose of cooperation, the principles of cooperation, the benefits, the obstacles faced and their resolution, as well as the involvement of the government's role in it. The data sources used are primary sources using interview techniques and secondary data sources using literature study techniques. In analyzing the research, the author uses the theory of international cooperation and is supported by the neoliberalism approach. The results of this study show that the cooperation between Al-Ittifaqiah Islamic Boarding School and Al-Azhar University is running smoothly and still continues to this day.
