PT. Putra Muba Coal is a national company engaged in the coal mining industry and has been meeting coal needs for various local industries and international markets since 2008. PT. Putra Muba Coal uses an open pit mining system using a combination of excavators and dump trucks. In 2022 based on the RKAB (Work Plan and Budget) which has been approved by the Ministry of ESDM, PT. Putra Muba Coal has increased its coal production target to meet market demand of 4,000,000 tons/year, by operating in 1 pit, namely the pilot pit. In connection with the plan to achieve coal production, it is necessary to plan the types and amount of mechanical equipment to be used, such as excavators and dump trucks. Based on the results of actual calculations in the field on the pilot pit with the tools used, namely 2 excavators and 16 dumptrucks, the production of loading and unloading equipment was obtained, namely 2,771,077 tons/year and the production of hauling equipment, namely 1,829,733 tons/year. Due to the increase in the 2022 production target and the actual results obtained, it is necessary to hold a plan for adding equipment so that the production target can be achieved. Therefore, a report was prepared in the form of an Evaluation of the Needs for Digging Equipment and Transport Equipment to meet the Coal Production target of 4,000,000 tons/year at PT Putra Muba Coal, so that it can be used as material for consideration for the plan to add the loading and unloading equipment.
