The purpose of this research is to determine the meaning and position of the the short film "Two Pillars One Roof" which deals with the mythical phenomenon of child carriers. This study used qualitative research methods with reception analysis methods. Data collection methods use documentation studies and in-depth interviews. Meanwhile, informants are chosen based on purposive sampling. The conclusion of the study suggests that informants understand the myth of the child carrier being present in ethnic Chinese and its rituals and believe that the mythical phenomenon of the child carrier is a conflict of the film. Meanwhile, if the opinions of informants are categorized into three reader positions suggested by Stuart Hall, then in this study there are two informants who occupy the dominant position and 1 informant negotiating position. This is supported against the background of each informant.
