The issue of carbon emissions is currently a global concern. The two main components of the carbon footprint are primary emissions of vehicles and secondary emissions of household appliances. Since it produces no emissions, hydrogen can be used in household appliances such as water heaters and is an environmentally friendly energy source. In a comparative analysis, a water heater using hydrogen as fuel heated bath water to a temperature of 40℃ faster than a water heater using LPG. A temperature of 40℃ is the recommended hot water temperature for bathing. With a certain gas mass flow rate, the hydrogen water heater can reach that temperature within 10 minutes, while the LPG water heater takes 30.5 minutes. However, when the gas mass flow rate is increased, the LPG water heater can reach the same temperature in 10 minutes, while the hydrogen water heater only takes 3.3 minutes. In heating bath water to 40℃ within 10 minutes, the hydrogen water heater requires a fuel cylinder with a minimum mass of 0.02021 kg, while the LPG water heater requires a cylinder with a minimum mass of 0.06168 kg.
