Sprain injury is one of the injuries that often occurs in sportsmen, sprain injury if not treated properly can cause various side effects. First aid for sprain injuries is to use the RICE method (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation). The activities carried out by physical education students have a lot to do with sports activities that can pose a risk of injury, so knowledge about first aid injuries is needed. One of the efforts to increase knowledge about first aid injuries is through health education using video media. This study aims to determine the effect of health education using video media on the knowledge of physical education students about first aid for sprain injuries using the RICE method (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation). This research is a pre-experimental study using a one group pretest-posttest design. The sample used in this study was 35 respondents taken using non-probability sampling method, namely purposive sampling that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon sign rank test statistical test obtained a p value of 0.000 which means there is an effect of education using video media on the knowledge of physical education students about first aid for sprain injuries using the RICE method (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation). Respondents can understand the information well because video media involves sound elements and image elements that can be seen in video form and involves various senses. Audiovisual media is effective in increasing knowledge about first aid for sprain injuries so that this media can be used as one of the health education media.
