Museum is a permanent institution that serves the public and its development, does not prioritize profit, is open to the public, to collect, research, maintain, communicate, and exhibit cultural heritage and its tangible and intangible environment for research, entertainment and education purposes. The concept of disaster-responsive architecture and traditional architecture combined into a museum building with a local yet modern style. As a building located in areas prone to natural disasters such as earthquakes, potential tsunamis. every aspect of the design that can respond to these things is good for the planned building site, inner and outer circulation, utilities, to the structure of the museum building. The West Sumatra Provincial Natural Disaster Recreation and Education Museum can be a means of education for the community about natural disaster phenomena such as earthquakes and tsunamis, disaster mitigation efforts, etc. This activity can refer to all ages of visitors which include training or learning with films and demonstrations with technology in this case in the form of dioramas, photos as well as historical documentation by playing circulation in space so that visitors get this information more interestingly.
