PENGARUH PEMBERIAN SERBUK KUNYIT DAN KAPSUL LADA HITAM TERHADAP KUALITAS INTERNAL TELUR AYAM KUB SETELAH PENYIMPANAN 14 HARI
This research was conducted aimed to studying the effect of giving turmeric powder and black pepper capsules on the internal quality of KUB chicken eggs after 14 days of storage. This research was carried out for 3 months in the experimental cages of the Animal Husbandry Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Siwijaya University. This study used 50 KUB (Kampung Unggul Balitnak) chickens aged 2-2.5 months which were obtained from Aji Farm Palembang City. This study used 5treatments consisting of P0 (Control), P1 (ration + Turmeric powder 0.4 gram/head/day), P2 (ration + turmeric powder 0.4 gram/head/day + 1 black pepper capsule 0.2 gram/head/day), P3 (ration + turmeric powder 0.4 gram/head/day + 2 black pepper capsules 0.4 gram/head/day), P4 (ration + turmeric powder 0.4 gram/head/day + 3 Black Pepper Capsules 0.6 gram/head/day). The observed variables included egg weight loss, egg pH, egg white index (IPT), haugh unit (HU), air voids or air cells. The results showed that giving turmeric powder in rations and black pepper capsules orally to KUB chickens after 14 days of storage, the average value of weight loss in eggs was relatively large, ranging from 12.35 to 13.26%, the average pH value was not much different from the pH value. standard ranges from 7.42 to 8.00, the average Egg White Index (IPT) ranges from 0.01 to 0.02, the average haugh unit (HU) value in this study ranges from 57.15 to 64.77 and the average depth of air voids ranging from 3.61 to 3.95 mm.
