The aims of this study were (1) to knowing the characteristics of the peat community, (2) to identify the level of participation of community groups in the activities of the Peat and Mangrove Restoration Agency, (3) to know the level of empowerment of community groups in the activities of the Peat and Mangrove Restoration Agency, (4) to know the relationship between the level of participation and the level of community empowerment in the Peat and Mangrove Restoration Agency program. This research was conducted in Bangsal Village, Pampangan District, Ogan Komering Ilir District. The research location was chosen based on the consideration that Bangsal Village is one of the villages in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency which has peat land and received assistance from the government in 2019 to economic revitalitaion from BRGM . The population in this study were farmers members of BRGM in Bangsal Village, Pampangan District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. The sampling technique uses Purposive Sampling. The number of samples in this study was 100% of the total population, namely 15 farmers members of BRGM. The results showed that most of the respondent farmers were aged 46-54 years and were dominated by male farmers, the education level was more junior high school graduates, the number of family dependents was 2-4 more people, the average cultivated land area was 0.5 Ha and Farmers have been working for a maximum of 5-6 years. In the process of developing peatland buffalo cattle in Bangsal Village. This paper will discuss the relationship between the level of participation and the level of empowerment. the level of participation consists of planning, implementing, utilizing the results, and evaluating. then, the level of empowerment has several indicators such as the ability to access information, the ability to use technology, and the ability to make decisions. after knowing the level of participation and empowerment, the researcher will look at the relationship between the two indicators in accordance with economic revitalization activities in Bangsal Village Keywords: Buffalo cattle, Peatland, BRGM, Participation, Empowerment.
