ANALISIS RANTAI NILAI GLOBAL EKSPOR KOMODITAS KELAPA SAWIT SUMATERA SELATAN
Oil palm is a plantation commodity that brings many uses and has economic value, because every part of the plant can be processed into quality goods that can bring huge profits which of course have the potential to be a source of income that can be calculated. South Sumatra is one of the provinces in Indonesia that produces large-scale oil palm, which of course makes oil palm the main commodity. Global Value Chain is present as a concept to find out how a commodity chain flows from raw materials to the hands of consumers and how the involvement of these commodities in global market activities. This study uses the Global Value Chain theory to analyze the development of oil palm downstream in the province of South Sumatra. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods. Sources of data in this study are primary data sources in the form of direct interviews and secondary data obtained through documents from relevant agencies. The results of the study found that the downstreaming of oil palm in South Sumatra was not optimal and still need some development of technology and infrastructure so that the downstreaming of oil palm could be achieved to the final stage.
