PENGARUH TERAPI SPIRITUAL EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE (SEFT) TERHADAP STRES AKADEMIK SANTRI DI PONDOK PESANTREN TAHFIDZ NURUL QURAN
Due to changes in the environment and the age of students who are undergoing transition, students tend to experience academic stress easily. If not handled properly, stress can have an impact on decreasing body resistance and affecting mental health. Therefore, a therapy is needed to reduce the academic stress of students. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) therapy on the academic stress of students at Tahfidz Nurul Quran Islamic Boarding School. The research design used was a quasy experimental approach with a non-equivalent control group design. The number of samples was 36 respondents consisting of 18 intervention groups and 18 control groups using cluster sampling technique. The research was conducted at the Tahfidz Nurul Quran Islamic Boarding School which is located in Kertapati District, Palembang. The instrument for measuring academic stress uses the Indonesian adaptation of the ESSA questionnaire. Data analysis used was paired t-test and unpaired t-test. The results of this study showed that there was no significant difference in the academic stress of the intervention group on the pre-test and post-test (p value = 0.362). In the control group there was no significant difference in academic stress in the pre-test and post-test (p value = 0.059), whereas for the post-test in the intervention group and post-test in the control group there was also no significant difference (p value = 0.810 ). Although there was no significant difference, based on the results of the pre-test and post-test average scores in the intervention group, there was a decrease in the majority of aspects of academic stress. The reason for the ineffectiveness of SEFT therapy is that there is neglect of an important matter, namely solemnity
