UPAYA INDONESIA FOR GLOBAL JUSTICE (IGJ) DALAM MERESPON ISU INTERNATIONAL “UNION FOR THE PROTECTION OF NEW VARIETIES OF PLANTS” (UPOV) DI INDONESIA EUROPEAN UNION COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT (I-EU CEPA)
The This study aims to see how the role of Indonesia for Global Justice (IGJ) in responding to the international issue of the Union for the Protection of new Varieties of Plant (UPOV) in the Indonesia European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (I-EU CEPA). By using the theory of the role of Non-Government Organization (NGO) from David Lewis and Nazneen Kanji by using data collection techniques in-depth interviews and literature studies. In this study the authors found that the role of IGJ is (1) as an implementer IGJ conducts socialization about UPOV to farmers in Indonesia (2) as a catalvst IGJ becomes a facilitator by facilitating various FGDs, advocating, campaigning, and overseeing or supervising UPOV in I-EU CEPA (3) as a partner IGJ collaborates with the ministry of agriculture and INGOs. From the results of this study, the author concludes that IGJ has carried out its role as an NGO that has fulfilled the three main roles of NGOs in responding to the issue of UPOV in I-EU CEPA.
