Utilization of mangrove ecosystems for the concept of tourism (ecotourism) is in line with the shift in tourist interest from old tourism, namely tourists who only come to do tours without any elements of education and conservation to new tourism, namely tourists who come to do tours in which there are elements of education and conservation. Therefore, serious efforts are needed to manage and find specific ecotourism destinations that are natural and rich in biodiversity and can preserve the environment. Sungsang IV Village is one of 5 villages in the coastal area of Banyuasin II District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra Province which is located in the northernmost part of South Sumatra Province. Sungsang IV Village has a mangrove forest which has potential as an educational tourism facility. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. Interviews were conducted to obtain data so that later qualitative SWOT data would be obtained. The data collected is in the form of primary data and secondary data. The primary data in this study is qualitative SWOT data. While secondary data, in this case is an overview of research locations and literature that supports and assists researchers in carrying out research activities. The data obtained from the results of in-depth FGD (Focus Group Discussion) interviews, questionnaires, and field observations were then processed and adapted to the objectives of the research to be achieved. Then explained descriptively. In the process of processing the data is done by collecting primary data and secondary data, then analyzed by means of systematic and tabular calculations, then information and data are calculated, clarified by being presented descriptively. The results of this study are that the Mangrove Area of Sungsang IV Village is in quadrant II position by using the ST strategy by utilizing its strengths to overcome threats.
