This study discussed the phenomenon of the death of Brigadier Joshua with several irregularities that reaped a lot of negative comments from the public. This case became the spotlight in various media especially since it took quite a long time to determine the murder suspects and their motives. One of mass media that also highlighting this case was the talkshow Hot Room on Metro TV. This study used the theory of social construction of reality with analysis method using Robert N. Entman’s framing analysis. This method consisted of four important elements, which are defining the problem, diagnosing cause, making moral judgements, and solving problems. The focus of this research was how to define problem, diagnose cause, make moral decision, as well as the solution offered in the social construction of reality in the news on the issue of the death of Brigadier Joshua in Hot Room talk show episode “A New Chapter Uncovers The Culprit” and “What’s The Story Behind The Suspect”. The result showed that indeed there were framing carried out by the Hot Room talk show on Metro TV. Keywords: Social construction of reality, framing, murder
