FENOMENA FEAR OF MISSING OUT (FOMO) DI KALANGAN REMAJA PENIKMAT KOPI KEKINIAN (STUDI DI KAFE SAY STORY KOTA LUBUKLINGGAU)
Research entitled The Phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) among Teenage Connoisseurs of Contemporary Coffee (Study at Say Story Cafe, Lubuklinggau City). The problems studied in this study are the meaning of contemporary coffee drinking activities in adolescents who have a fear of missing out and the factors that cause adolescents to experience the phenomenon of fear of missing out by consuming contemporary coffee. The purpose of this study was to identify and analyze the phenomenon of fear of missing out among young coffee connoisseurs at the Say Story cafe in Lubuklinggau City. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a phenomenological research strategy. This study uses the theory of Consumption Society from Jean Baudrillard. The data in this study were obtained through observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The results of the study found that there is a meaning in the current activity of drinking coffee among teenagers who are afraid of missing out, namely (1) Self-Image in the Social Environment, (2) Self-Image in Social Media, (3) Cafe as a Social Space, (4) Coffee as a Group Identity. The factors that cause teenagers to fear of missing out consuming coffee today are (1) Social Exclusion, (2) Social Jealousy, (3) Social Recognition.
