PERAN ZOOLOGICAL SOCIETY OF LONDON (ZSL) DALAM PENGELOLAAN LANSKAP BERKELANJUTAN SEMBILANG DANGKU
This research examines the role of a non-governmental organization, Zoological Society of London (ZSL), in Sembilang Dangku, South Sumatra. The forest and land fires that occurred in South Sumatra in 2015 attracted international attention, so several International NGOs appointed ZSL to resolve the problems in South Sumatra, especially in Sembilang Dangku The aim of this research is to evaluate the role of ZSL in promoting sustainable landscape development in the Sembilang Dangku area. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the author collected data and information through literature and document studies, to examine the concept of an international non-governmental organization based on three roles: Implementer, in which ZSL applies the KELOLA program that includes efforts to protect and conserve land and wildlife in the Sembilang Dangku region; Catalyst, in which ZSL has the ability to lobby the South Sumatra government in developing a green economy: and Partnership, in which ZSL forms part erships with communities and stakeholders. The results of this research indicate that ZSL plays a significant role in increasing public awareness about environmental protection and conducting surveys of new species in the Sembilang Dangku area. This role is attributed to ZSL's ability to develop long-term cooperation plans with the South Sumatra government until 2028 through awareness campaigns, partnerships with communities and the South Sumatra provincial government, and the implementation of the KELOLA Sendang program. Keywords: Non-Governmental Organization, Sustainable Landscape Development in Sembilang Dangku, Zoological Society of London (ZSL)
