Indonesia is a rich country in existing and diverse natural attractions. Tourism is very abundant and has great potential to be developed by the government, but unfortunately it has not been fully implemented because considering various aspects that must be carried out, one indicator of the occurrence of tourism development is the social capital owned by the local community. Social capital is in the form of community participation, mutual trust and can be trusted, reciprocity between the community ad the government, and how social networks are used. The research method used in his research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection used in this study was non-participant observation, in-depth interviews with 10 informants, and documentation in the form of photos of research locations and research activities. The results of this study indicate that community social capital is needed in the tourism development process, as well as social capital that exists in the Dempo Rejo village, including communty participation, synergy between the community and the government, and social networks.
