STRATEGI BERTAHAN HIDUP PEREMPUAN PEDAGANG KAKI LIMA DI PINGGIRAN SEKOLAH DASAR (SD) NEGERI 205 PALEMBANG
This study examines issues regarding the survival strategies of female street vendors on the outskirts of the 205 Palembang Elementary School (SD). The purpose of this study was to find out the form of survival strategies carried out by female street vendors who trade on the outskirts of the 205 Palembang Elementary School (SD). The method used is a qualitative research method with a case study research strategy. The theory used is the concept of survival strategy (coping strategy) from Suharto (2009). The determination of informants was carried out by purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out using observation, interview and documentation techniques with 8 main informants and 2 supporting informants. The results of the study showed that in the survival of female street vendors, they carried out 3 strategies. The first is an active strategy by adding a variety of merchandise, extending trading time, doing additional work, and employing elderly family members, children and husbands with physical disabilities. The second strategy is passive by saving on food, clothing and shelter expenses. The three network strategies in meeting the needs for food, clothing, shelter, and education utilize networks of family, neighbors, loan sharks, PNM Mekaar, Family Hope Program (PKH), and Smart Indonesia Cards (KIP).
