ANCAMAN NARKOBA DI ERA GLOBALISASI : ANALISIS RESPONS MASYARAKAT PALEMBANG TERHADAP SEKURITISASI BADAN NARKOTIKA NASIONAL PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
Globalization creates technological advances that remove barriers and make it easier for people to communicate but are used by a group of people for negative things. An example is the darknet, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) explains that a darknet is a 'room' that is used as a place to commit crimes, one of which is the sale and purchase of narcotics. Indonesia also faces the problem of this narcotics issue and in handling it, Indonesia carries out securitization, one of which is through the SUMSEL BNNP by carrying out socialization or counseling to the people of SUMSEL. This study aims to find out and explain the response of the people of South Sumatra to counseling from the South Sumatra National Narcotics Agency. This study uses mixed methods, which means a method that combines qualitative and quantitative forms. The mixed methods are divided into three categories and the authors use the qualitatively driven design category, which means a qualitative study added to the method or quantitative data. This study uses securitization theory which focuses on the referent object dimension. The referent object in this study is the people of South Sumatra, which are divided into four groups, namely 1) Educational Environment with respondents from SMKN 8 Palembang students who still do not fully understand narcotics in more depth such as the governing law and New Psychoactive Substances (NPS), 2) The Environment Private Agencies from Elnusa Petrofin whose results they understand the dangers of narcotics but still do not fully understand the laws governing and around rehabilitation, 3) Environment of Government Agencies with respondents from Class I Lapas Palembang employees who already understand enough about narcotics issues, governing laws and benefits rehabilitation, and 4) The general public from Kampung Layang-Layang Palembang who already know the dangers of narcotics but do not fully understand the laws that govern them. From this research, it can be concluded that there are still many people in South Sumatra who know and are aware of the dangers of narcotics, both long and short term, but there are still many who do not understand more deeply about narcotics, such as the types of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS), laws governing narcotics.
