The drought index arises from people who are anxious because of the effects of the drought problem they experience every year. Such monitoring is a form of prevention to minimize losses and adverse impacts that occur. The 2 methods include the Standardized Precipitation Index and the Keetch-Byram Drought Index. These 2 methods were made in the United States and have been used in more than 70 different countries. The focus of this study is to review the distribution of drought in Musi Banyuasin and Ogan Komering Ilir Regencies. The data used is secondary data originating from official agencies in the fields of meteorology, climatology and geophysics so that the data used can be accounted for. Data analysis was carried out based on the results of data processing that had been processed using Microsoft Excel. After that, interpolation is done in a space with the help of software in the form of ArcMap. Efforts were made to improve the accuracy of calculations and conditions in the field by controlling data on hot spots obtained from LAPAN and BRIN satellite images.
