This research focuses on the motives and goals of teenagers hanging out on the side of the road between villages. Hanging out is a habit that is very synonymous with teenagers, hanging out is usually done in places that are comfortable and fun including roads, hanging out becomes proof and adds to the experience of teenagers in living their lives, teenagers are of course an important stage for humans because in this period humans will become what's next. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of the habits of teenagers who often hang out on the side of the road. The research method used is qualitative with a phenomenological research strategy. The results obtained from this study are that of the 9 main informants who often hang out on the side of the inter-village road, the teenagers' motives for hanging out are caused by the pressures they experience in life, so they need a place to hang out to spend their free time doing activities such as smoking, playing games, or playing remote boats and taking pictures, besides that the atmosphere of the interaction that occurs makes this inter-village highway a suitable place for adolescent ambitions to gain recognition and increase friendship relations. The purpose of teenagers who hang out here is because this place is far from parental control so that teenagers are free to do what they like and feel happy and happy is the impact of teenagers who often hang out on this side of the road.
