The study deals with the representation of anxiety and hopelessness experienced by a young generation in his or her mid-30s who are in the quarter life crisis or a quarter-century crisis.. The anxiety and hopelessness of the younger generation are linked to the social demands it receives. The same was true of Mark Lee, a member of the NCT boyband. The purpose of this study is to know the representation of anxiety and despair featured in the song and my of mark lee's "child" song. In this study, the theory of Roland Barthes then used a semiotic analysis technique to identify the meaning of the song's denotation, connotation, and mythological meaning. The results of this study are an implied meaning of anxiety and despair from the words of the song in the "child" video music, the denotation of the lyrics in the song's video music that depict anxiety and despair. Then the connotation was that Mark as a singer and songwriter attempted to convey the feelings of his youth. The mythological meaning in this song is that there is indeed an anxiety and hopelessness experienced by the younger generation in the quarter life crisis.
