PERAN SOUTH ASIA ASSOCIATION FOR REGIONAL COOPERATION DALAM MENANGANI PERDAGANGAN MANUSIA DI NEPAL TAHUN 2016-2019
This study was conducted to find out and analyze the role of the South Asia Association for Regional Cooperation in dealing with human trafficking in Nepal in 2016-2019. The Regional Organization in the South Asian region, the South Asia Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC), is a public organization that has concerns about the welfare of the people and problems that exist in the South Asian region, one of which is dealing with human trafficking in Nepal. This research is supported by the theory put forward by Clive Archer about the three roles that international organizations have, namely Instruments, Arenas (forums), and Independent Actors. The research method used by the author is a descriptive qualitative method, aimed at describing facts related to the problem under study in words Data collected by researchers through literature studies, online data searches, books, news, and websites. The data used by the authors in this study are secondary data obtained from the official SAARC website and the Convention convention on Preventing and Combating Trafficking in Women and Children for Prostitution. The results showed that the role of the South Asia Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) in dealing with human trafficking in Nepal acts as a tool to achieve interests, suppress the intensity of problems (conflicts), as a venue for member meetings, plays a role in formulating international agreements, acts independently, as a policy-making actor.
