Road is land transportalion facility for supporting economy and movement, also as growth and development necessity for one area. Palembang - Betung Street located in Banyuasin Regency is national road which connects national transportation network along Sumatra Island named the East Passing Road and also as one of entrances into and fforn South Sumatra Province, Palembang City. But, these opportunities must be truncated because of traffic congestion problem caused by high vehicle volume and road damage especially at the entrance area through many kilometers ahead. The main purpose of this research is to estimating improvement cost of Palembang - Betung Street, economic loss of the congestion and difference between them. Method in this research is based on literature study, data collecting, improvement estimation, vehicle operation cost and economic analysis. From research result, economic loss of the congestion reaches 66,045,211,695 rupiahs and 1,420,967,693,713 rupiahs in 2024. By road improvement and broadening to 15 meters width (4/2 UD) along 10 kilometers, that is fforn STA 0+000 to 10+000, it needs 70,073,239,000 rupiahs and 86,096,403,927 rupiahs including maintenance in 2024. The investment of this development is proper economically by 685,596,547,175.94 rupiahs of NPV and 16,5 of BCR value.
