PENGARUH PEMBERIAN AMELIORAN ABU TANDAN KELAPA SAWIT DAN PUPUK KANDANG SAPI TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN PRODUKSI JAGUNG MANIS (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) PADA TANAH GAMBUT.
Sweet corn is a food crop that has a sweeter taste than ordinary corn, has high economic value, and has a shorter harvest time. The demand for corn is increasing, but corn production is not sufficient to meet the demand. For this reason, efforts to increase sweet corn production are needed to meet demand. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of oil palm bunch ash and cow manure ameliorants on the growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) on peat soils. The research was conducted in Bandar Agung Village, Lalan District, Musi Banyuasin Regency from December 2022 to March 2023. This study used a Randomized Factorial Block Design (RAKF) which consisted of 2 factors with the following factors: the first factor was the dose of oil palm bunch ash consisting from: T0 = control, T1 = oil palm bunch ash 20 tons/ha (100 g/polybag), T2 = oil palm bunch ash 60 tons/ha (300 g/polybag) and the second factor is the dose of cow manure, namely: P0 = control, P1 = 42 tons/ha cow manure (210 g/polybag), P2 = 84 tons/ha cow manure (420 g/polybag) so that 9 treatments were repeated 3 times, for each treatment there were 2 plant samples. The results showed that (1) there was no significant difference in plant height, number of leaves, plant fresh weight and plant dry weight (2) administration of 300 g of oil palm bunch ash + 210 g of cow manure showed the best combination results on sweet corn plants because it has the highest average on each variable observed.
