PEMBUATAN MEMBRAN POLYETHERSULFONE DENGAN PENCAMPURAN PERAK NITRAT UNTUK PENYARINGAN AIR LIMBAH RUMAH TANGGA
Membrane technology is one of the technologies that emerged in the mid-19th century which is a water treatment process with excellent quality such as high productivity and light weight, but with the advantages possessed by these membranes, there are weaknesses that become obstacles in the ease of processing. water is fouling. Based on the background described by the authors above, in this research a Polyethersulfone membrane was formed by mixing Silver Nitrate (AgNO3) to develop a water treatment membrane. In this study, making membranes on 3 specimens by weight (wt%) of the mixture and addictive substances in each sample included, among others, 20wt%, 22.5wt% and 25wt%. In the PES membrane sample mixed with AgNO3 in each concentration, a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) test was carried out to see the interwoven fibers in the membrane, a tensile test was carried out to analyze and determine the resilience and ability of the membrane to withstand tensile loads and a Clean Water Permeability test was carried out. (CWP) to see the application of the membrane in clean water treatment. In the tensile test carried out on 20wt%, 22.5wt% and 25wt% membranes, it was found that the increase in tensile stress on each membrane was caused by an increase in the concentration of PES and Silver Nitrate which resulted in a denser structure of the membrane fibers. At a concentration of 22.5wt%, the tensile test values reached 134,477 MPa, while at concentrations of 20% and 25wt%, the values reached 78,661 MPa and 91,466 MPa.
