KARAKTERISTIK WOVEN FIBER BIOCOMPOSITE MENGGUNAKAN SERAT DAUN NANAS
The research of this study was to obtain the highest strength of pineapple leaf fiber biocomposite in the direction of woven fibers using polyester resin based on tensile strength, modulus of elasticity and flexural strength.. The research method used is descriptive method with a mixture of pineapple leaf fiber and polyester resin with woven fiber type. The treatment factors consisted of three treatment levels with a volume fraction of pineapple leaf fiber and polyester resin 40%:60%, 50%:50%, and 60%:40%, and the treatments were tested with two repetitions of the test. The data collected in this study is primary data in the form of measurement results of the parameters of tensile strength, modulus of elasticity, and bending strength which are processed and presented in the form of graphs and tables from the mechanical analysis of tensile tests. The results showed that the addition of fiber volume fraction significantly affected the values of tensile strength, elastic modulus, and bending strength of biocomposites. Based on the research results, the highest average tensile strength was produced by biocomposites with a volume fraction of 60%:40% which was 55.85 MPa, the highest average value of elastic modulus was produced by biocomposites with a volume fraction of 60%:40% which was 3.199 GPa, and the highest average bending strength value was produced by biocomposites with a volume fraction of 60%:40% which was 2578.79 MPa.
