In designing a building , the economic aspect is always trying to achieve as much as possible . Selection of materials , methods of execution , and dimensions of building components become a consideration in the achievement level of a building economy. Composite structure is a structure consisting of two or more materials with different material properties and form a unity so as to produce better combined properties . The use of composite materials is expected to be a more economical construction without experiencing a decrease in the strength of the structure. OverView The aim of this calculation to determine how much the cost difference obtained from the use of composite structure . The calculation is done based on the analysis of the budget plan costs of floor slabs on A.R Bunda Lubuk Linggau hospital project and then comparing the budget plan costs of existing floor slabs ( conventional reinforced concrete ) with budget plan costs of composite floor slabs . From the calculation results obtained that , the use of composite floor slabs can reduce construction costs by up to 13 % .
