This research aimed to determine the best combination of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunch (OPEFB) fertilizer and NPK fertilizer on the growth of SJ 5 oil palm in pre nursery. The research was conducted at the Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya Subdistrict, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The research was carried out from September to December 2022. The research used a Randomized Complete Block Design consisting of 2 factors : the first factor was the dosage of oil palm empty fruit bunches, which consisted of 4 levels, and the second factor was the NPK 16:16:16 fertilizer, which consisted of 3 levels with 3 replications, and each experimental unit consisted of 3 plants. The first factor : Dosage of Oil Palm Empty Fruit Bunches T0 = Control, T1 = 100 g per plant, T2 = 200 g per plant, T3 = 300 g per plant. The second factor: Dosage of NPK fertilizer N1 = 2.5 g per plant, N2 = 5.0 g per plant, N3 = 7.5 g per plant. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). If there were significant differences, it would be followed by a LSD test at the 5% level. The results of the research showed that the combination of OPEFB fertilizer and NPK 16:16:16 significantly affected the seedling height and leaf greenness. OPEFB fertilizer at a dosage of 300 g per plant and NPK fertilizer at a dosage of 2.5 g per plant provided the best growth during the early seedling stage of oil palm. Keywords : Oil palm, OPEFB fertilizer, NPK fertilizer
