EVALUASI IMPLEMENTASI PENGENDALIAN HAMA DAN PENYAKIT TANAMAN TERPADU OLEH PETANI HORTIKULTURA DI SUMATERA SELATAN
Horticultural crops are plants that are widely cultivated in Indonesia. The increasing population in Indonesia has also increased the food needs of the Indonesian people. However, to fulfill the food needs, pest and plant disease always disrupt production activities. This attack resulted in a decrease in the production of horticultural crops. For this reason, it is necessary to control pests and diseases in horticultural crops, but many farmers still use synthetic pesticides as an easy control alternative. There are other alternatives that can be used by farmers to control them, namely integrated pest and plant disease control that prioritizes environmental sustainability. The purpose of this research is to evaluate the way horticultural farmers in South Sumatra implement integrated pest and plant disease control correctly. From 147 horticultural farmer’s fields that observed, there were 29 species of pests from various ordo and 12 types of diseases infecting horticulturalcrops The PHT scores obtained by horticultural farmers are on average sufficient, but there are still less than 50% of farmers who apply PHT in the field correctly. The farmers ignorance about integrated pest and disease management affects the presence of pests and diseases in the field even though the correlation is very low.
