Pest attacks on eggplant plants can cause yield losses up to 80% or even reach 100%. Eggplant attacked by pests causes a decrease in production and affects the quality of the fruit so that it can result in crop failure. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of botanical pesticides in suppressing pest populations on eggplant (Solanum melongena L.). This research was conducted in May 2022 until September 2022, located at ExperimentalGarden, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, Indralaya, Ogan Ilir Regency. This research was conducted using an experimental method which was carried out through experimental application of botanical pesticides consisting of leaf extracts of neem (Azadirachta indica), papaya (Carica papaya), jatropha curcas (Jatropha curcas), and chickweed (Ageratum conyzoides). This experiment was arranged in a randomized block design (RBD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The results of this study indicated that the most dominant insect pest found in eggplant was Epilachna sparsa with a total of 50 individuals, while the fewest insect was Chrysochraon dispar. The most severe pest damage on eggplant was of Leucinodes orbonalis and Epilachna sparsa with the damages ranged from 0.001˗0.60%.
