This study aims to determine the factors that influence sexual and reproductive health communication patterns between parents and adolescents aged 10-24 years and its determinants based on Parent-Adolescent Communication (PAC) theory in Sukarami sub-district, Palembang City. This research is a quantitative research with cross sectional approach. Sampling used multiple stage cluster random sampling technique with a total of 135 respondents. This research instrument used a questionnaire/questionnaire. Data analysis was done univariately, bivariately with chi square statistical test, and multivariate with multiple logistic regression test. The results of univariate analysis showed that almost 40% of respondents had ineffective communication in providing sexual and reproductive health information. The results of bivariate analysis showed that variables associated with sexual and reproductive health communication patterns between parents and adolescents, namely knowledge variables (p=0.025; PR=2.045; CI=1.070-3.911), trust (p=0.000; PR=0.389; CI=0.237-0.637), sex-related norms (p=0.004; PR=1.949; CI=1.320-2.879), the role of peers (p=0.000; PR=2.222; CI=1.491-3.310), the role of the school environment (p=0.001; PR=2.113; CI=1.431-3.119, the role of mass media (p=0.020; PR=1.844; CI=1.229-2.765), while the unrelated variables are attitude variables, gender norms, the role of teachers, and cultural traditions. Based on the results of multivariate analysis, the most dominant variable was the role of the school environment. (p-value=0.001; PR=8.427; CI=2.363-30.046) which means that respondents with a low role of the school environment have an 8.427 times higher chance of having ineffective sexual and reproductive health communication patterns between parents and adolescents than respondents with a high role of the school environment after being controlled by variables of sex-related norms, mass media roles, teacher roles, gender norms, attitudes, beliefs, knowledge, peer roles. Therefore, there is a need for counseling such as parent and adolescent forums in schools so that there is a psychosocial approach in improving attitudes and behaviors for adolescents and parents regarding adolescent sexual and reproductive health communication.
