HUBUNGAN KUALITAS TIDUR DENGAN PENINGKATAN KADAR GLUKOSA DARAH PADA PASIEN DI POLI PTM PUSKESMAS SOSIAL KOTA PALEMBANG
Effective sleep is needed to repair damaged cells, including beta cells that function to produce insulin, but for those who have poor sleep quality it actually causes a person to experience an increase in blood glucose levels. This study aims to determine the relationship between sleep quality and increased blood glucose levels in patients at the PTM Polyclinic at the Social Health Center in Palembang City. This research uses descriptive analytic method with cross-sectional design and Chi Square test, as well as multivariate with multiple logistic regression test with risk factor models. The sample in this study amounted to 125 samples. The results showed that most Type II Diabetes Mellitus sufferers who had poor sleep quality had high blood glucose levels (p-value = 0.007), which meant that there was a significant relationship between sleep quality and blood glucose levels. Based on the results of multivariate analysis through multiple logistic regression tests with model factors, it was stated that the risk that patients who have poor sleep quality are depressed experience abnormal blood glucose levels more than 1 times compared to patients who have good sleep quality after controlling for variables such as gender, obesity, activity physical activity, consumption of sweet foods and drinks, consumption of salty foods and consumption of fruits and vegetables. The conclusion of this study is that poor sleep quality has a close relationship with blood glucose levels, so a healthy lifestyle is needed in order to reduce unregulated blood glucose levels.
