HUBUNGAN SANITASI DAN PERSONAL HYGIENE DENGAN KEJADIAN STUNTING DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS 11 ILIR KOTA PALEMBANG
Stunting is a global concern and is a target of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The occurrence of stunting is caused by direct factors such as nutritional intake and infectious diseases as well as indirect factors such as sanitation, hygiene, food security and parenting styles. This study aims to analyze the relationship between sanitation and personal hygiene with the incidence of stunting. This type of research is a quantitative study with a cross sectional design. The population of this study were all children under five aged 0-59 months from the working area of the 11 Ilir Public Health Center, Palembang City, with a total of 301 people. Sampling was carried out by accidental sampling and obtained a total sample of 102 respondents. Data was collected using questionnaires and observation sheets to measure sources of drinking water, latrine ownership, SPAL management, waste management and personal hygiene. and microtois to measure stunting. Data processing was carried out by univariate, bivariate and multivariate analysis. The results of the bivariate analysis showed a relationship between toilet ownership (p-value 0.000), waste management (p-value 0.000), SPAL management (p-value 0.000) and personal hygiene (p-value 0.350). The results of multivariate analysis showed that the most dominant risk factor was waste management (p-value 0.000) and PR=27.708. Waste management is a dominant factor in the incidence of stunting in the working area of the 11 Ilir Health Center in Palembang City. Conclusion The prevalence of stunting in the working area of Puskesmas 11 Ilir is still high, it is necessary to increase efforts to improve hygiene behavior and manage environmental sanitation facilities to protect toddlers from infectious diseases that result in stunting.
